- YOUR MOUTH CAN SEND YOU TO PRISON!
If you are arrested, your mouth is your biggest enemy! DO NOT TALK TOO MUCH!
Here are dangerous things people say that land them in prison:
NEVER SAY I DID IT!
Even if you are scared, never say it. Everything you say at the station will be written as a CONFESSIONAL STATEMENT and it alone can give you 10 years in prison!
NEVER SAY "I WILL PAY, PLEASE FORGIVE ME"
The moment you say this, you have admitted guilt. The judge will say If he didn't do it, he wouldn't have offered to pay.
NEVER SIGN A PAPER YOU DID NOT READ!
This is how innocent people are trapped. They will write what you did NOT say and ask you to sign. REFUSE! It is your right.
NEVER SAY BEAT ME, KILL ME!
Don't give them the chance to claim you were resisting. Torture is illegal - Section 34 of the 1999 Constitution says no one should be subjected to inhuman treatment.

Once you say that, they have won.
SO WHAT SHOULD YOU SAY?
Memorize this ONE sentence like your name, and keep repeating it:
I WISH TO REMAIN SILENT AND I WANT TO SEE MY LAWYER
That one sentence is your constitutional right under Section 35 & 36 of the Constitution
That one sentence can save you from 10 years in prison with hard labour!
