Unspoken Rule in the Business World

You may not read this best-kept secret elsewhere but I will drop it here for free.

If you have the intention to meet with any bank CEO or top shareholder of a bank for the purpose of doing business with the person, you don’t need to be told that the bank account details you will give them should be the one from their bank.

Take for instance, Mr Tony Elumelu wants to sponsor your event, I don’t need to tell you to send your UBA account to him.

If Mr Jim Ovia wants to sponsor your program or support your business, I don’t need to tell you to send him your Zenith Bank account details.

These are unspoken rules.

No matter how big a CEO has grown, there’s this joy they always have when they see that you are using their product.

Apply this same principle when trying to connect with any top CEO.

Oftentimes, being a regular user of their product can even help you initiate a good and smooth conversation with them at a networking event.

Some of you might be asking why some entrepreneurs have 5 bank accounts and counting can now learn how it is done.

This is an unspoken rule.

You can have the best product/service or idea but they will prefer someone else if you present the their competitor’s bank account details.

Imagine Femi Otedola promised to gift you 20M naira and you are presenting a UBA account to him instead of First Bank account.

Or Tony Elumelu trying to gift you 25M naira and you are sending him an Access Bank account.

Even if they eventually send it, you won’t touch them at a “weak” point that will make them just love you, smile and want to do business with you again and again.

This is a top secret.
You needed to see the smile on the face of a bank CEO when he wanted to gift someone money for interviewing him and she mentioned that she holds an account with his bank since her NYSC days.

The man shook her hand the second time with excitement.

Never wait too long to fire a bad staff. If you cross the line, no matter how much you’ve contributed to the firm, you’re gone. That’s the rule. Oops!

Where there’s no law and orderliness, then there’s no sin. Emotions and business should be on a parallel line apart.
Codes of conduct are very important, and three strikes from HR for repeated code-of-conduct violations should, by all means, be grounds for immediate termination.

Trust is still the highest currency in business.

Money is powerful, but character opens doors money cannot open.

When people trust your word, they can fund your vision, carry you through tight seasons, and stand with you when cash flow is not smiling.

Please my people, always protect your name because your reputation arrives before you do.

Your integrity is collateral and also your character is capital. Don't play with them.

To every entrepreneur on this jouney with me, don’t only chase income. Chase credibility, trust and a good name.

I believe that the real money you need for your next level is hiding inside the trust someone has for you.

As a business owner,⁣
You need to learn how to move on fast.⁣
⁣
Stop living on past glory.⁣
That your past wins won't pay next month's bills.⁣
⁣
At the same time your past mistakes don't have to ruin the next.⁣
⁣
⁣
The moment you realize that what you do next matters more than what you did last,⁣
It will change how you treat your business.⁣
⁣
Because these business traps will be waiting for you, no matter your level.⁣
⁣
⁣
The market doesn't care about your last victory or your last failure.⁣
It only responds to your current execution.⁣
⁣
When you understand this, you'll stop focusing on old glory. You'll stop mourning for too long.⁣
Just go ahead and execute the next action.⁣
⁣
⁣
What you're doing today is what dictates where your business stands tomorrow.⁣
⁣
Keep winning!
