You've Heard of MTN and Dangote. But What About These 3 Stocks?
While most investors are watching names like Dangote Cement, MTN Nigeria and the big banks, there are smaller or less-talked-about companies on the NGX that are worth knowing about.
Here are 3 that caught my attention:
1. CWG Plc (Ticker: CWG)
CWG is a Nigerian technology company providing IT infrastructure, cloud, software, managed services and other technology solutions to businesses across sectors including financial services and telecommunications.
And its numbers have been getting interesting.
For FY2025, CWG reported revenue of about ₦65.6 billion, up from ₦46.35 billion in 2024.
Profit after tax also increased from about ₦3.04 billion to ₦5.61 billion.
That's significant growth for a company many everyday investors rarely talk about.
2. Learn Africa Plc (Ticker: LEARNAFRCA)
Formerly associated with the Longman Nigeria name, Learn Africa has been in Nigeria's education and publishing business for decades.
The company publishes and distributes educational materials across different levels of learning.
Its FY2025 results were particularly striking.
Revenue increased 27% from ₦4.08 billion to ₦5.18 billion.
But profit after tax jumped from just ₦11.2 million to about ₦475 million — an increase of roughly 4,143%.
That doesn't automatically make the stock a buy, but it definitely makes the company one to keep on your radar.
3. Africa Prudential Plc (Ticker: AFRIPRUD)
This is one of the more unusual companies on the NGX.
Africa Prudential operates primarily in share registration and investor-related services, alongside technology-enabled solutions.
In simple terms, it operates behind the scenes of Nigeria's capital market, providing services connected to shareholders, listed companies and investors.
For FY2025, gross earnings rose to about ₦7.19 billion from ₦5.20 billion, while profit after tax increased from ₦1.81 billion to ₦2.72 billion.
Why This Matters
The lesson isn't that these three stocks are automatically undervalued or that you should rush to buy them.
The lesson is that the NGX is bigger than the names you hear about every day.
Sometimes, interesting businesses are sitting outside the spotlight.
But before buying any lesser-known stock, check:
• Revenue and profit growth
• Debt and cash flow
• Valuation
• Dividend history
• Recent company announcements
• Trading volume and liquidity
• Your own investment timeframe and risk tolerance
A company can have impressive financial results and still be a poor investment at the wrong price.

This is for educational purposes only and is not investment advice. Always do your own research before investing.
Which of these 3 companies had you heard of before?
CWG, Learn Africa or Africa Prudential?
